Peruvian rebar sales plummet in March during pandemic

Peruvian rebar sales in March plummeted 58.9 percent, year-on-year, as Peru announced a nationwide lockdown on March 16 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to statistics agency INEI, Peruvian rebar sales in March reached 45,082 mt, down from 109,774 mt in the same month of 2019.

Peruvian rebar sales in March fell 61.4 percent, month-on-month, from 45,082 mt in February this year.

As for Q1, Peruvian rebar sales reached 2.8 million mt, down from 3.2 million mt in the same period of the year prior.
