POSCO launches premium steel products for construction market

According to media reports, South Korea’s largest steelmaker POSCO will focus on the capabilities of the company’s affiliates to produce premium construction steel products in order to meet the future construction market trends.

The company will develop its new premium structural steel brand, Innovilt, which the company launched in November last year and used in architectural structures, interior and exterior construction, and civil engineering projects.

Innovilt products are expected to help raise POSCO’s dominance in the domestic construction steel market and to attract a demand of 22 million mt per year in total, including 10 million mt of steel bars and 12 million mt of premium products.

Marketing director for steel products at POSCO, Kim Sang-kyun, said, “The company aims to raise the annual sales volume of Innovilt premium steel products to 14 million mt at home and abroad by 2030 from the current 4 million mt.”
