Dutch labor union FNV has announced that workers and Tata Steel have come to an agreement following negotiations regarding the company’s Ijmuiden plant. The employment agreement between the sides will be extended by five years until October 1, 2026. Tata Steel promised no forced layoffs and no parts of Tata Steel Netherlands will be sold, SteelOrbis understands.

Ijmuiden workers were on strike with intervals over a period of 25 days. The strikes started in reaction to the stepping down of Tata Steel CEO Theo Henrar.
