Marmara-based Turkish steelmaker Diler D.C., part of Diler Holding, has halted its rebar production as of April 23 as a measure against spread of the Covid-19 coronavirus. The stoppage of the rebar rolling line will last 14 days. Diler will continue to produce wire rod in this period, while SteelOrbis has learned that the producer has some rebar inventories in hand.

Diler D.C. recently stopped crude steel production due to maintenance works, though the steel plant is now producing crude steel again. Meanwhile, operations at Yazıcı Demir Celik, a steelmaker affiliated with Diler, are continuing as usual.

The company’s annual capacity at its rolling mill is 800,000 mt, while its annual liquid steel capacity is 1,300,000 mt.
