According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of rebar totaled 17,258 mt in February 2020, up 50.3 percent from January and up 81.1 percent from February 2019 levels. By value, rebar bar exports totaled $11.0 million in February, compared to $7.8 million in the previous month and $7.0 million the same month last year.
The US shipped the most rebar to Canada in February with 13,680 mt, compared to 9,498 mt in January and 4,941 mt in February 2019. Other top destinations included Dominican Republic, with 1,538 mt; and Bahamas, with 1,097 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US rebar exports in February.
