US rig count sinks again week-on-week while Canadian count also declines

Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending April 24, the US rotary rig count decreased by 64 to 465 rigs following a 73-rig decrease the week before. The number of rigs drilling for gas decreased by four to 85, while the number of rigs drilling for oil decreased by 60 to 378. The overall rig count is now down by 526 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.

Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count decreased by four to 26 rigs in the week ending April 24, following a five-rig decrease the week before. The Canadian rig count is now down by 37 rigs compared to the same week a year ago.
